At kahoot.com/certified, you can find free self-paced training courses on how to use Kahoot!. They consist of watching a series of videos, reading through a downloadable pdf guide, and then completing an assigned kahoot through our iOS or Android mobile app. If you are signed in to the mobile app with your K! account, you’ll be emailed a certificate and a digital badge upon passing with at least 80% correct.
Certificates
These are printable documents with your name on them that certify completion of one of our courses. Their intended use is to assert to your administration that you qualify for having earned credit towards professional development.
Digital badges
These are linkable images that you can share on social media, add to your email signature, and display in a digital backpack or badge board that represents completion of our courses.
Course eligibility
Who can take Kahoot! Certified courses?
Kahoot! Certified was designed for teachers seeking professional development (PD) credits to maintain their teaching certification. However, these courses are freely available to anyone. One note about this is that we do not market to students. While students can take our courses, they cannot receive certificates. Silver and Gold essential courses won’t be accessible without the ability to receive certificates.
How do I take a Kahoot! Certified course?
Simply go to kahoot.com/certified and choose a course to take. While you can work through all courses, it’s worth knowing that there are two different course types:
Essential coursesThese require you to complete one course to progress to the next course. A link to the next course will be included with your emailed certificate, which will be the only way to access the next course. |
Advanced coursesThese can be taken in any order. They cover pedagogical topics and assume you already know the information in the essential courses. |
Course completion
How do I receive a certificate?
Each course consists of watching a series of videos, reading through a downloadable pdf guide, and then completing an assigned kahoot through our iOS or Android mobile app. To complete the kahoot and receive a certificate and a digital badge, you must:
- Install and open our iOS or Android mobile app.
- Login in to your Kahoot! account.
- Click “Enter PIN” and submit the PIN.
- Complete the kahoot with at least 80% correct.
- Check your email inbox for a certificate and a digital badge. If this is an essential course, there will also be a link to the next course in the same email.

I followed all the steps above but received no email, why?
- Check what email address is on file and make sure it’s correct.
- Check if it went to your email spam/junk folder.
I didn’t get 80% correct, can I retake the assigned kahoot?
Yes! There are two options:

Wait until Monday. A new PIN will be generated each Monday.
Or… - Uninstall and reinstall our mobile app, then login and submit the PIN again.
