How to host kahoots remotely?

Using video calling tools or live streaming services, you’re able to loop in players from anywhere in the world. You can set up remote games with another classroom, office, school, or business.

Integrations

We recommend our integrations that facilitate remote Kahoot!'ing:

Other software

You can also use another video conferencing software.

Here are some tips:

  1. Log in to your Kahoot! account and find your kahoot to host.
  2. Connect to your video conferencing tool of choice. Make sure your webcam, microphone, and speaker are turned on.
  3. Start hosting a live game. Recommended: show question and answers on players' devices.
  4. Share your screen. The scoreboard and correct answers are displayed only on the host's screen even if the feature show question and answers on players' devices is enabled.
  5. Host the kahoot as usual, taking care to not speak over the music that plays during the timer countdown - you can either:
▶ Wait until all responses are in to talk
Mute or lower game music volume

Live streaming services - Services like Twitch, YouNow, Facebook Live, or YouTube Live also let you share your screen online with others. These are ideal if you want to host a kahoot publicly with a large audience. Please check bandwidth recommendations when expecting a large audience.
